Jacob and Erica Zerger
Jacob and Erica developed a heart for cross-cultural ministry at a young age. In particular, their experiences serving on cross-cultural short-term trips in high school and in college gave them a passion for God's work among the nations. In pursuing further education to equip them for service, both Jacob and Erica graduated with bachelor’s degrees in Intercultural Studies. After getting married, and shortly after Jacob's graduation, they were appointed by an international Christian organization to serve in the Middle East. Through living in the Middle East, Jacob and Erica learned firsthand about the many challenges and struggles that Christian workers face when crossing cultures.
Having to return to the United States due to health and family needs, the Lord began to shape in Jacob and Erica a vision for serving global Christian workers through counseling. Jacob accepted a job as a substance use counselor at a local community mental health center to gain experience, and also completed a Master of Arts degree in Pastoral Counseling.
As part of the One Another team, both Jacob and Erica find it a privilege to be used of God in bringing healing to international Christian workers. Jacob's goal is to bring the grace and peace of Christ into his interactions with individuals who desire healing. His experience includes helping clients with addiction, co-dependency, family of origin struggles, depression, anxiety, and self-image. Jacob provides a safe space for counselees to process the burdens of their past, along with exploring how these experiences influence their current struggles. Erica's gifts include encouragement, hospitality, and service. Her warmth and inviting presence provides a welcoming atmosphere for Christian workers who are struggling. Both Jacob and Erica desire to share and show the love of Christ in their relationships and ministry.
Jacob and Erica are blessed with three children, who bring a lot of joy to our lives. As a couple, Jacob and Erica are thankful for the way in which the Lord has continued to grow and shape their family for His glory.
